Fishing Aventura
Your Day on the Water from Aventura
Aventura sits in the northeast corner of Miami-Dade, wrapped in water on nearly every side. Dumfoundling Bay, Maule Lake, and the Intracoastal all run right through the city, and Haulover Inlet opens the door to the ocean just to the south. Anglers fish with Capt. Orly aboard the Nomad out of Dinner Key Marina, and they reach the same rich water that runs along this whole stretch of coast.

The Aventura Fishery
The inshore fishing here is the easy sell. The Intracoastal, the inlets, and the backwaters around Dumfoundling Bay hold snook, tarpon, and hard-pulling jack crevalle. They ambush bait on the moving tide against the seawalls and the bridge shadows. That protected water is calm and forgiving, which makes it a great fit for a family fishing trip.
Offshore is a short run away. Out through the cut and east to the reef edge, the Gulf Stream pushes sailfish in the winter and mahi through the warmer months. We troll a spread and switch to live bait and kite fishing when we mark fish on the reef line. The blue water sits close enough that a half-day trip can still reach it.
The wrecks and reefs off the coast fill out the fishery. They hold mutton and yellowtail snapper, grouper, and amberjack year-round, and a session of vertical jigging puts a hard bend in the rod. It is steady, forgiving fishing that suits a mixed group. Look over the charter rates and trip options and we will build the day around what is biting.

What Anglers Say
"My 3 sons and I had a terrific outing with Captain Danny. The communication before our trip was fantastic, with Captain Orly answering questions about the weather, what to bring and what to wear. We caught something at pretty much every stop and everybody got fish. Highly recommend this trip!"
Sarah Tims, Chicago, IL
"Thanks to our captain, Arty, for the best possible experience fishing in Miami! He was extremely helpful and hands-on, highly knowledgeable and an expert at what he does. We said we wanted action, and Arty went above and beyond. One of the best charters we've done. We'll always book with Orlando and Arty going forward."
Tracy Do, Texas
"What a great first experience! It's evident this crew comes with decades of experience. A VERY hard working captain who works with all different levels of experience and is very patient. They also filet the fish we caught. Looking forward to booking another trip."

Local Knowledge
Reading the Water Off Aventura
The main variable off Aventura is the same one the whole coast shares. A northeast wind blowing over the Gulf Stream can stand the reef edge up, and on those days the offshore run turns rough. When that happens we work the protected Intracoastal and the bays, where the snook, tarpon, and jacks keep feeding in calm water.
Haulover Inlet is the other thing to respect. The cut funnels a lot of current and boat traffic, and it fishes very differently on an incoming versus an outgoing tide. Timing it right takes local knowledge of how the inlet behaves through the tide.
Summer adds afternoon storms that build off the Everglades, so we push departures early to fish the calm hours. The payoff is access to a remarkable mix of water within a short run, from the backwaters to the blue edge.
Aventura sits right beside the coast we fish daily. Anglers can read how we run Sunny Isles Beach charters just to the south, and those up in Broward fish the same water through Hollywood. Reach out to book an Aventura charter and we will plan the day around the tide.
Nearby Areas We Fish
We also run charters for anglers in Sunny Isles Beach, Miami Beach, Hollywood, and Miami.
